My journey
If someone would have asked me in my twenties, will you try for a baby in your forties, I would have laughed and said, ‘are you joking’. It’s hard to predict our future as circumstances change and our thought processes can change with time and experiences. We meet new people, travel the world, enter new relationships etc. We started trying for a baby when I was in my early 40’s. It was daunting and worrying, compare to my first getting pregnant experience, where I had decided to get pregnant in Dec and I conceived the very next month. This time we tried for a year, every month there was hope, ended up with disappointment. I went to see my GP and he run all the tests, I went for laparoscopy and it came out all clear, healthy uterus and ovaries. I fell pregnant when I was going through all the tests but lost the baby at 14 weeks. That’s it, my confidence in getting pregnant and staying pregnant went to 10%.
I was looking for the reason why I lost my child to see what I had done wrong. It was painful grief, but we didn’t lose hope. We gave ourselves 1 year to heal from the pain and look for a more holistic and nutritional approach. During this baby-making journey, I joined a 3-year nutritional therapy course, and I started looking at food as fuel for our body. I was focused to learn as much as possible about nutrition, its role in our health, and increasing awareness of all the healthcare options available to people. After 2 years I fell pregnant again. It was a healthy pregnancy but very stressful because of my last experience. I gave birth at 39 weeks and now have a happy and healthy little girl.
My Mission
My 4 years journey of having a baby, change the prospect of my life. After completing my studies, I left NHS where i worked for 18 years so that I could change career to encourage people, who need nutirtional support and guidance to achieve their health goals. I believe every person’s needs are unique. I focus on providing personalised diets that suit the individual, according to their needs, preferences, health conditions, goals and any available test results.
I believe by finding the unique approach that best suits you as an individual, you’ll not only see quick results, you’ll also maintain them easily in the long term. I work with a functional medicine approach so I view my clients holistically and aim to find the ROOT CAUSE of the symptoms.
